Group Safety

1. Establish a buddy system for all participants.

2. Designate a specific meeting point within the park and agree on a meeting time. If possible, have a place where the group leader will be available at all times.

3. Let all participants know that if they are separated from the group or hurt, they need to notify the nearest lifeguard or park staff member.

4. Determine the abilities of all swimmers, and set appropriate guidelines (lifejackets, restrictions for slides, etc.)

5. Remind group members to bring:
• Swimwear
• Cover-ups
• Sunscreen
• Towels
• Water or juice in non-glass containers
• Money for a locker and food

6. Obey all rules posted throughout the park.

7. Follow any special instructions from lifeguards or staff.
